Automatic Block

It is an electrical spacing system that allows to automatically perform the operations required for safety. With the Automatic Block: the exchange of consents for the forwarding of trains in each Block Section takes place automatically; the maneuver of the line signals occurs without the use of operators. With this type of block the line is fully equipped with track circuits and is divided into sections that can be occupied individually by a train; each Block Section is protected by its own protection signal. The blocking signal is normally disposed of by green light (except those of a station or those that protect level crossings); it is placed in an impeded way when the train passes (which is therefore automatically protected); the signal then returns to green light only after the train has freed the section; the train occupies the next section and so on.
