Braking

Set of technical features and standards that a train must comply with in order to be allowed to circulate on a given line, in normal running conditions and possibly degraded (vehicle failure), in order to ensure its parking or its arrest in the allowed distance or its parking. The braking of the rolling stock is achieved through continuous brake systems, hand brake, and emergency brake. Combined braking is a type of braking which in particular means combines the action of the continuous brake with the so-called electric braking. The braking can also be “self-continuous”, when there is a particular Autocontinuous Device; “Automatic”, when the traction units are equipped with an automatic braking device connected with signal repetition. A particular type of tested braking was that with an electromagnetic rail brake
