Equipment that continually ensures electrical energy, with alternating and direct current, necessary for railway devices (for example: interlocking). Electrical equipment for the movement of trains must have a continuous operation, therefore they must be powered by more alternative energy sources. Possible input sources are: National or Railway Network. UPS always has a connection to a battery of electric accumulators. In case of high energy consumption, a fuel-powered generator is present in addition to the battery of electric accumulators. In the case of “power failure” of the Network that powers the UPS, the power supply immediately switches from the Network to the battery and to the generator, if there is one; therefore, the UPS is always powered and ensures feeding to railway devices
