Crossover of tracks

Gautletting. Entity of the armament device that allows the rolling stock to cross a track on a straight track with a crossing point in a straight line with another track also in a straight line. The intersection is not a deviation apparatus as it does not allow any passage from one track to another, but its conformation has similarities with that of a switch. The intersection can be straight, if the intersection is at 90 °, or oblique, if the intersection forms lower angles. The straight intersection is rare, the oblique one is much more used; in it there are always four points in which the crossing of the rails occurs and therefore there are four frogs
