Signal regulation. Regulation, properly so called, which contains the general principles and the fundamental rules on railway signaling. The Signals Regulation describes the form of the signals, the aspects they can take and the precise meanings of the orders and the way they operate. This allows the communication of the orders (prescriptions) to the train machine personnel by the ground personnel, for the running of the trains and for the maneuvering activities, by means of Signals.
