Uninterruptible Power System (UPS)

Equipment that continually ensures electrical energy, with alternating and continuous current, necessary for railway devices (example: interlocking). The electrical equipment for the movement of the trains must have a continuous operation, therefore they must be powered by more alternative energy sources. Possible sources of input are: National or Railway Network. The UPS always has a connection to a battery of electric accumulators. If the user is relevant, a battery-powered generator is present in addition to the battery of electric accumulators. In the case of “power failure” of the Network that powers the UPS, there is the switching (in zero time) from the power supply of the Network to the battery, and generator if this is existing; so the UPS is always powered so it ensures feeding to railway devices.
